Frequently Asked Questions

About-WhiteLine

Typical sessions last 50+ minutes and for certain situations (Relational and Family sessions) 90 minute sessions are advised. Weekly sessions are recommended for consistency and care.

Client intensives (multiple hour sessions) are available for longer experiential explorations for deep dives into the material. Please inquire with Kris for more details.

The outcome of this process depends largely on the willingness to engage, which may, at times, result in considerable discomfort. There are no miracle cues.

Due to the varying nature and severity of challenges and the individuality of each client, your therapist is unable to predict the length of your therapy or to guarantee a specific outcome or result.

This is space best suited for an ongoing, long term investment in self-development and interpersonal connection. We are building a sacred space to explore your truth and healing.

I have seen clients who have committed to weekly sessions for a year and a half and they have experienced good works on their initial interests. I have also seen other clients unveil new information in our work together where there are multiple chapters that unfold in the healing process. Sometimes people step away from Therapy after feeling initially satisfied with their work, and then return for a deep inquiry on a new or different level.

This space is cultivating a therapeutic relationship where the door is open to return, deepen and ripen in one’s personal exploration.

Yes, I have a limited number of spots reserved for those who feel I’m the right fit, but the cost would make it inaccessible. Typically, these are reserved for those who don’t have the same access to resources due to structural inequality, whether that’s income level or those with historically underserved identities.

I am not in-network with any insurance providers. You may be able to receive some reimbursement if your policy has out-of-network mental (OON) health benefits. In order to do this, I will be required to provide a diagnosis for you, and we will discuss this together. I’ll provide you with a superbill that you can use to submit for reimbursement. You can also get reimbursed through a Flexible Spending/Health Savings Account, if you have one, by submitting a statement that I can give you.

It is best to call your insurance company to find out what your benefits are, to see if you are eligible for reimbursement.

Questions to ask:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network mental health provider?
  • What is the out of network reimbursement rate for the CPT code 90837?

It is best to call your insurance company to find out what your benefits are, to see if you are eligible for reimbursement.

“In urgent times, many of us are tempted to address trouble in terms of making an imagined future safe, of stopping something from happening that looms in the future…Staying with the trouble does not require such a relationship to times called the future. In fact, staying with the trouble requires learning to be truly present…as moral critters entwined in myriad unfinished configurations of places, times, matters, meanings…Staying with the trouble requires making oddkin: that is, we requires each other in unexpected collaborations and combinations, in hot compost piles.  We become-with each other or not at all.”
